Graham McLeod is Managing Partner of Inspired and Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town.

At UCT he teaches postgraduate courses including a Postgraduate Diploma and Honours in Distributed Commercial Information Systems. . Research interests include methods engineering, object oriented techniques, linking business and I.T. strategy, and architectures.

He has 24 years experience in the industry where he has held positions in software development, project management, education, product management and general management. He is a full member of the Computer Society, where he has served on and chaired various committees including special interest groups for System Development, Object Orientation and Information Management. He was a syllabus panel member, examiner and moderator for the Computer Users Council for many years. He is currently a member of IFIP 8.1 working group on system development and chairs a Task Group on UML and related processes. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.

He co-authored the Gold Project Management methodology and worked on development of the Tetrarch strategic planning, system development and capacity planning methods. He has been involved with methods, CASE and systems engineering since 1984 and object oriented techniques and tools since 1990. He is the author of many papers and, with Derek Smith, the book Managing I.T. Projects.

Graham consults widely and travels regularly as well as conducting local research. These activities ensure that consulting practice and training courses are maintained at the forefront of available techniques.

He is involved in architecture and strategy in the assurance, banking, education, telecomms and media industries.
